The fiscal year 2021 annual report from the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division shows Iowans drinking at record levels.

The report issued Tuesday shows liquor sales topping $400 million for the first time, an increase of over 13 percent over fiscal year 2020, which was also a record year.

The ABD says that through November, fiscal year 2022 sales are up 5.7 percent.

The top-selling brands of spirits continue to be constant. Black Velvet was the best selling whiskey; Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and Tito’s Handmade Vodka round out the top three sellers. Black Velvet has been the top seller since at least Fiscal Year 2012, according to the report.
