A Davenport man has been arrested after allegedly exposing himself to a woman at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

39-year-old Darnell Bonner was at the Emergency Department Sunday at 1pm when he was reported to have exposed himself and masturbated in the presence of a female nursing assistant. The overseeing physician told authorities that Bonner has the mental capacity to understand his actions are not permitted.

A warrant was issued for Bonner’s arrest on Monday; he was taken into custody Tuesday and booked into the Johnson County Jail at 8:19pm. He’s been charged with indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.

This isn’t the first incident involving Bonner at the UIHC. KCJJ previously reported that Bonner was being discharged from the UIHC ER the morning September 9th when he shoved a doctor into a wall and counter inside Room 4.  He was charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, and entered a written plea of not guilty on November 29th. A Case Management Conference has been scheduled for January 24th. Bonner faces maximum of one year in jail if convicted for that incident.
