A Hope House resident who escaped for the second time has been arrested after an absence of several months.

According to the Department of Correctional Services complaint, 21-year-old Davonte Treshawn Tharpe was convicted of first degree Theft in 2016 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a stay at a residential facility. He left Hope House on May 13th 2018 to go to work but never returned that evening. Tharpe was captured four months later, and sentenced to the original ten years in prison.

Once again, Tharpe was given an opportunity to leave prison and serve the rest of his sentence at Hope House. On February 10th of this year, Tharpe left for his job at Panchero’s and didn’t return.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was captured Friday. He’s in the Johnson County Jail, charged with Absence from Custody, a serious misdemeanor. Additional jail time could be added to his sentence if he’s convicted.
