(City of North Liberty news release)
Ranshaw Way, recently closed between Golf View and Hawkeye drives to allow the construction of an underpass, has reopened two lanes to through traffic. Work will continue into summer 2022 to complete the underpass, trail and sidewalks as well as storm water management infrastructure.
Temporary traffic controls at the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Forevergreen Road will remain in place.
While work continues, traffic will occasionally be shifted from the inside or outside lanes to provide safer working conditions for construction crews.
The completed work, from Zeller Street to Hawkeye Drive, will look much like previous phases: widening the road to five lanes, adding trail, sidewalk and landscaping, and moving utilities underground, in addition to a pedestrian underpass south of the Golf View intersection. These improvements, while disruptive during construction, will make travel in and around North Liberty easier. A discussion of this project from earlier this year is available on our website.
Drivers are asked to use caution around the work site, allow extra travel time, and find alternative routes when possible.
