2nd UI student arrested for urinating on “Brain Rock” within a week

For the second Saturday morning in a row, a University of Iowa student has been charged with urinating on the famous “Brain Rock” on the UI campus.

The latest incident occurred just after 2am Saturday, when UI Police say 18-year-old Jack Ryan of Hillcrest Hall was observed urinating on the rock, located on the T. Anne Cleary Walkway on North Capitol Street. Ryan allegedly showed signs of intoxication, admitted to being intoxicated, and was found in possession of a fake Illinois driver’s license. He provided a breath alcohol content of .121%. Ryan is charged with Public Intoxication, Public Urination, and Possession of a Fake ID.  If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 13 months in jail.

21-year-old UI student John Schuebel of East College Street was arrested on the same charges just after 2:45am on Saturday, November 6th after he was allegedly seen urinating on the Brain Rock. His fake ID was from Ohio.
