A suspect accused of aiding in the murder of a Coralville man has asked for a review of his bond.

That’s according to court records, which show lawyers for 20-year-old Elijah McAbee made the request on Friday. McAbee is accused of helping his brother, 21-year-old Milton McAbee, kill 30-year-old Gregory Jackson.

Jackson was one of three people shot just after 9:30pm on Christmas night of 2019 on the 900 block of Boston Way.  Milton McAbee, who lived near Jackson on Boston Way, was the gunman.

Milton McAbee had allegedly threatened to kill Jackson in retaliation for an earlier fight between Jackson and McAbee’s father. He was charged with 1st Degree Murder and Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon. Records show he reached a plea deal with prosecutors, and sentencing is set for December 3rd.

Elijah McAbee is charged with Aiding and Abetting 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Carrying Weapons, Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Injury. He reached a plea deal on October 18th. His bond review is set for November 1st, with sentencing scheduled for November 19th.

1st Degree Murder is punishable by life in prison.
