One of the men charged in a Christmas Day shooting in Coralville back in 2019 is taking a plea deal.

KCRG TV reports that prosecutors originally charged Milton McAbee with first degree murder of Gregory Jackson at a residence on Boston Way Christmas evening. New court documents show he’s pleaded guilty to lesser charges, including involuntary manslaughter.

Sentencing is set for December 3rd.

McAbee reportedly admitted to the shooting, saying it was in retaliation for Jackson attacking his father earlier that day. Two others were hurt in the incident.

McAbee’s brother Elijah is also charged. He has a case management conference scheduled for October 29th.
