The founding owner of Saddleback Golf Course in Solon is retiring at the end of the year, and the new owners will be making some changes.
The Gazette reports that the new ownership group plans to keep the property for golf, but hopes to add 40 villa-style homes on the southwest side of the property.
Ron Rushek has been managing the course for over two decades, and is selling to a group that includes members of the AM Management Group, Hodge Construction and local golf professional Tommy Dee.
Rushek told the Gazette that a lot of parties were interested in the property, but he is selling to the group because he wants it to stay a golf course.
Construction of the homes is expected to start in the spring, dependent on support from the City of Solon.
