An armed Quad Cities woman was arrested by Coralville Police early Sunday morning after she was allegedly found with a gun and drugs in her car.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Hyundai Sonata that had been speeding 11 miles an hour over the speed limit on the 10 block of the Coralville Strip just before 3:45 Sunday morning. The vehicle allegedly smelled of marijuana.

The driver, 21-year-old Jada Baker of Davenport, admitted she had a gun in the car, but reportedly claimed multiple times that there was no marijuana. Police say a small baggie of marijuana was found in Baker’s wallet, which was in her purse along with a loaded SCCY 9mm pistol.

Baker was arrested and charged with Person Ineligible to Carry a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of two years in jail.
