Multiple agencies responded to an early Friday morning house fire in Coralville.

A press release from the Coralville Fire Department says that they responded to a house fire at 2136 13th Street around 4am.

There was heavy fire throughout the house when crews arrived on scene. They were able to extinguish the blaze in about 45 minutes, but firefighters remained on the scene until about 8 am.

Two occupants in the home were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and were able to evacuate safely.  The house suffered an estimated $250,000 in damage, and the occupants have been displaced.

Fire crews from Coralville, Iowa City, North Liberty and Tiffin all responded. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
