A Swisher woman faces charges that she beat her husband with a hammer and a frozen pie.

Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an address on Blain Cemetery Road NW just after 4pm Saturday for a domestic incident. An investigation determined that 52-year-old Kristin Bruce had hit her husband three times with a frozen pie, then retrieved a hammer and used it to damage cars outside as well as the door to the home. Police say Bruce then hit her husband with the hammer three times on the arm and shoulder.

Bruce was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault While Displaying a Weapon. If convicted, she faces a maximum of two years in prison.
