One injured in Thursday shooting at Town & Campus

Iowa City Police are investigating a shooting that left one woman injured Thursday night.

According to an ICPD news release, officers responded to the Town & Campus apartments on Arthur Street just before 11:30pm for a report of shots fired and a possible victim struck by gunfire.

Upon further investigation, police believe a dispute had occurred between a group of people, and one of the individuals involved fired a gun at several others, striking an adult woman in the group. The woman was transported by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the shooting victim has not cooperated with police, but witnesses reported seeing several people fleeing the scene in separate vehicles, one possibly being a white truck. Police have not located these individuals and the incident remains under investigation.

This incident is being actively investigated by the Iowa City Police Department and we are asking the public for assistance. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275. In addition, anyone in that area with security cameras is asked to review their recordings and contact the Iowa City Police Department with any potential footage or information about this incident.
