A West Des Moines woman didn’t quite get the miracle she was named for when arrested on OWI charges early Thursday.

22-year-old Miracle of God Amen Onaimoni was allegedly involved in an accident around 2:30 am in the southbound lanes of Interstate 380 near the 2.6 mile marker.  A State Trooper was called to the scene by North Liberty Police when it was believed that she was under the influence.

Upon arrival, the trooper noticed the vehicle had passenger side front fender damage, an unknown paint transfer, and the front right tire was on its rim. Onaimoni was allegedly observed with the odor of ingested alcohol, bloodshot watery eyes, and slurred speech. There was also reportedly an empty shot bottle of vodka and a half-empty shot bottle in the vehicle.

Onaimoni allegedly stated that she did consume some alcohol during the night. Due to the heavy rain at the time, and the woman reportedly uncooperative with authorities, she was placed under arrest.

Onaimoni was then taken to the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety for Datamaster testing, which she refused. She’s charged with first offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
