A fight after the Coralville 4thFest fireworks has led to the arrest of an Iowa City man after he allegedly broke over $1,000 in camera equipment.
Coralville Police responded to a reported fight between 23-year-old Leance Kabongo of Broadway Street and another man just after 11pm Sunday at S.T. Morrison Park. Kabongo allegedly broke the other man’s camera and a special lens, valued at a total of $1,229.
Kabongo also allegedly smelled of ingested alcohol. His blood alcohol content was measured at .098%.
Kabongo is charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief and Public Intoxication. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
