A Glenwood Iowa man was arrested after being found in possession of a Chevy Impala reportedly stolen out of Minnesota.
Police came in contact with 19-year-old Alec Woods in the 3600 block of Highway 1 Monday afternoon shortly after 3:30 in the 2001 vehicle with Minnesota plates. A check of the registration showed that the vehicle was reported stolen. Woods allegedly told officers that a friend named “Brendan” let him borrow the vehicle, and he admitted to driving it to Iowa.
Police determined that Woods had no authority to possess the vehicle, and charged him with 2nd degree Theft, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
