ICPD investigates reported drive-by shooting that left 1 injured

Iowa City Police are investigating a reported drive-by shooting that left a woman injured Monday night.

According to an ICPD news release, just before 11pm Monday officers responded to a 911 call of a woman who was shot in the 700 Block of Michael Street. It was initially reported that the woman was the victim of a drive-by shooting as she sat in a vehicle in the parking lot.

The woman was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made, but police do not believe this is a random event.

This incident is being actively investigated by the Iowa City Police Department and we are asking the public for assistance. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275. In addition, anyone in that area with security cameras is asked to review their recordings and contact the Iowa City Police Department with any potential footage or information about this incident.
