A Cedar Rapids man faces charges that he murdered his sister and his parents.
Cedar Rapids Police were called to 4414 Oak Leaf Court NE at 8:23 Tuesday morning for a reported shooting. Arriving officers found three people deceased inside the home. They were identified as 68-year-old Melissa Jackson, 61-year-old Jan Jackson, and 19-year-old Sabrina Jackson. A fourth member of the family, 20-year-old Alexander Jackson, was transported to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his foot.
Investigators determined that Alexander Jackson had shot and killed his parents and sister. Upon his release from the hospital, Jackson was charged with three counts of 1st Degree Murder. If convicted, he faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
Jackson remains at the Linn County Correctional Center.
