Today is Election Day in Johnson County, as voters get to decide who takes the open seat on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.
The seat became open when supervisor Janelle Rettig announced her retirement earlier this year. The person who wins the seat will serve the remainder of Rettig’s term, which expires in December 2022.
Democrat Jon Green, Republican Phil Hemmingway and independent candidate Brian Campbell are on today’s ballot.
Polls are open from 7am to 8pm today; any absentee ballots must be received by 8pm today to be counted. To find your polling place, go to www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov and click on the voter/elections tab.
