A new court date has been set for an Iowa City murder suspect.

33-year-old Patrick Bland of Rockford, Illinois appeared at a case management conference in Johnson County Court on Friday. That’s when Judge Lars Anderson set a second case management conference for August 20th.

Bland, who waived his right to a speedy trial in March, is accused of helping 45-year-old Reginald Little of Cross Park Avenue and 23-year-old Durojaiye Rosa of Broadway Street in killing Kejuan Winters in his Broadway Street apartment on April 20th, 2020. Rosa, who lived in Winters’ building, allegedly told investigators that the men entered Winters’ apartment only with the intent of robbing him, not shooting him. Winters, who was unarmed, died at the scene.  Little is believed to be the gunman.

All three men are charged with 1st Degree Murder, which is punishable by life in prison if convicted.

Bland’s trial is still set for October 5th. Depositions are scheduled for June 23rd.

Little’s trial is set to begin on September 21st, with a case management conference set for June 25th.

Rosa’s trial is scheduled for November 2nd.
