North Liberty, Amana residents killed in Fayette County accident identified

The Iowa State Patrol has identified the North Liberty and Amana residents killed in a car vs. semi head-on collision in Fayette County.

According to the updated accident report, 65-year-old Terri Westfall of North Liberty, 18-year-old Ashleigh Rensing of North Liberty, and nine-year-old Alli Olson of Amana were all killed in the Friday afternoon crash north of West Union. 15-year-old Seth Olson of Amana was injured.

According to the State Patrol, the accident happened around 2:30 Friday afternoon on Highway 150 south of its intersection with Nature Road. Westfall was driving a 2010 Chevy Impala northbound when it crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a southbound semi being driven by 37-year-old Lamothe Guito of Orlando, Florida.

Westfall, Rensing and Alli Olson died at the scene. Seth Olson was transported to Gundersen Palmer Hospital in West Union with undisclosed injuries. The State Patrol says all four were wearing their seatbelts.

Guito was uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation.
