The Linn-Mar Community School District announced that they will take advantage of a state derecho waiver to end its school year three days earlier.
The new final day of the school year will be Friday June 4th, in line with the Cedar Rapids Community School District and the College Community School District.
The state waiver allowed school districts that had derecho damage to excuse up to ten student class days.
Superintendent Shannon Bisgard said that the change will help the district get a head start on numerous permanent repair projects necessitated by derecho damage.
The last day is a two-hour early dismissal.
