University of Iowa basketball player Jordan Bohannon was physically assaulted early Sunday morning in Iowa City.
A press release from the Athletic Department indicates that the senior suffered a serious head injury in the assault, and is recovering.
Coach Fran McCaffery is quoted in the release, saying, “Thankfully Jordan is recovering well after being attacked by an individual he did not see coming at him. We were made aware of the incident immediately. We are grateful that friends who were with Jordan at the time kept the incident from escalating. His health is our number one concern.”
Bohannon announced earlier this spring his intentions to come back and play for the Hawkeyes in his last year of eligibility.
