Woman seriously injured in car vs. pedestrian accident in Tiffin

A 60-year-old woman has been struck and injured by a teenage driver in Tiffin.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the woman was crossing Jackson Street on foot near Deer View Avenue just after 8am Monday when she was struck by a westbound 2005 Ford Taurus being driven by a 17-year-old male.

The woman was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics with life-threatening injuries. The driver was uninjured.

The names of those involved are being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.
