An Iowa City woman was taken into custody two days after allegedly stealing a construction worker’s truck from a Coralville hotel parking lot.
Police say 28-year-old Taylor Evans of H Street was at the Super 7 Hotel on 1st Avenue Friday just before 6:30am. She allegedly entered the vehicle, a 2008 Ford F150, from the driver’s side door. She reportedly drove away with the truck, which had numerous construction tools and equipment inside.
Estimated value of the truck and tools was believed to be over $20,000.
Evans was located and taken into custody Sunday at around 6pm. She’s been charged with Theft in the First Degree, a Class C Felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years if convicted.
