An Iowa City man convicted of assaulting police officers and beating and threatening to kill a woman is now accused of threatening his parole officer.

26-year-old Antoine Bryant was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 11:30 Friday morning. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Bryant told his supervising agent during an appointment earlier that morning, “You should be scared…scared every time you leave this office.”

Online records indicate no charges have yet been filed, but the incident is a violation of Bryant’s probation. Bryant is on probation for a pair of incidents.  In May of 2020, he physically fought with officers who were arresting him for violating a no-contact order on Wayne Avenue. Last December he beat and threatened to kill a woman at a residence on Catskill Court.
