An Iowa City man faces charges that he sent his romantic rival a video of him engaging in sexually explicit activity with a woman with whom both have had a relationship.

29-year-old David Solis was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 1:30 Saturday morning. Iowa City Police say Solis and another man have a romantic history with the same woman.

Around 7am on May 14th, Solis allegedly sent the other man two SMS messages. One was a screenshot of a conversation about the alleged victim and the woman in question.

The other was a sexually explicit video of Solis engaging in sexually explicit activity with the woman.

The alleged victim told police he felt Solis sent him the messages to incite fear and anger, and he felt harassed. The man also claimed Solis had targeted him with verbal threats and criminal mischief to his property in the past.

Solis is charged with 3rd Degree Harassment. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 30 days in jail.
Solis is also facing a felony domestic abuse charge stemming from an earlier, unrelated incident.
