An Iowa City rollover accident has led to the arrest of a Coralville man.

First responders were called to the intersection of Highway 6 and Riverside Drive just after 2am Friday for a 2009 Pontiac G6 that had rolled over. The driver and sole occupant, later identified as 24-year-old Gage Meyers of East 7th Street, fled the scene before officers could arrive.

Police say they located Meyers a short distance away, and that he admitted to being the driver of the vehicle. Meyers also allegedly showed signs of intoxication, admitted to being too intoxicated to drive, showed impairment on field sobriety tests, and failed a preliminary breath test.

Meyers was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated. Blood toxicology is pending.
