An Iowa City man has been arrested after witnesses say he intentionally backed into another vehicle not once, not twice, but at least three times.

According to arrest reports, 46-year-old Matthew Yoder of Westgate Street was witnessed pulling forward and repeatedly backing his Ford Escape into a Nissan Altima in his apartment building’s parking lot on May 12th around 7pm. He allegedly hit the vehicle at least three times before leaving the scene.

Damage to the Altima was estimated at nearly $6600.

Yoder reportedly admitted to hitting the victim’s vehicle and not reporting it nor contacting the victim about the damage.

H was arrested Wednesday and charged with 2nd degree Criminal Mischief, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
