A Parnell man faces charges that he drove his car straight through a T intersection, crashing his car into the ditch in front of him.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Nathan Ramer had been in a verbal altercation with his spouse at the couple’s 305th Street residence just after 8pm on January 5th, 2020 when he drove off, despite allegedly being extremely intoxicated. Ramer approached the T intersection down the street from his house and failed to stop at the stop sign, driving across Iowa/Johnson Road and straight into a ditch.

Deputies say Ramer suffered “many” broken bones and was taken to the hospital. His blood alcohol content was measured at .166 on a blood draw.

Ramer was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 6:15 Tuesday morning and charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
