Over 2/5 of all Johnson County residents have received full COVID-19 vaccinations.

That’s according to the most recent COVID-19 update from the University of Iowa.

According to the statistics listed, as of Friday morning, 57,348 Johnson County residents have completed both doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, with another 3,517 having received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. That adds up to 40.27% of county residents having received full vaccinations.

Another 18,139 Johnson County residents have received only the first dose of one of the two-dose vaccines, meaning 52.27% have either started or finished vaccinations.

The UI also reported four new COVID-19 cases among students between Wednesday and Friday, with no new employee cases reported. No residence hall occupants are in quarantine, while eight are in self-isolation. Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others, while self-isolation is used to separate people who are infected from those who are not.
