An alleged drunk driver faces charges that he threatened to shoot a witness in the case.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says just after 6:45 Friday night 30-year-old Jonathan Lanuza of Spring Ridge Drive was witnessed by security at the Lake Ridge manufactured housing community driving through the mobile home park with an unrestrained child in the back seat. Lanuza allegedly stopped at a residence and threatened to get a gun and kill the witness.
Sheriff’s deputies say Lanuza showed multiple signs of intoxication, had trouble walking, and failed field sobriety tests. His blood alcohol content was measured at .262% and .293%.
Lanuza is charged with Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, Child Endangerment and 2nd Degree Harassment. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
