Over half of all Johnson County residents have received at least one dose of one of the three COVID-19 vaccines.

That’s according to the most recent COVID-19 update from the University of Iowa. According to the statistics listed, as of Friday morning 50,591 Johnson County residents have completed both doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, with another 22,197 residents having received only the first dose. 3,473 county residents have received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

That breaks down to 50.46% of Johnson County residents having received at least one vaccine dose. 35.77% have been fully vaccinated.

The UI also reported seven new COVID-19 cases among students between Wednesday and Friday, with no new employee cases reported. No residence hall occupants are in quarantine, while four are in self-isolation. Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others, while self-isolation is used to separate people who are infected from those who are not.
