The second finalist for President at the University of Iowa met the public in an open forum Thursday.
Barbara Wilson, executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs for the University of Illinois System touted her over 30 years of experience in academia and administration, the last 20 at the University of Illinois.
The Daily Iowan reports that Wilson would look to students and shared governance leaders to assist her decision making. She pointed out her long history of collaboration with academic institutions and higher education stakeholders as she lobbied for the President position. Wilson says she currently meets with student leaders from various groups on campus and would continue to do so at the University of Iowa if she’s appointed President.
Wilson added that she’s known as a team leader at Illinois.
Two more finalists are scheduled to visit campus next week. The third finalist will be announced Sunday morning and will participate in a public forum Monday at 3:30. Interested community members can access the meeting using the same portals as the first two. Links to the forum will be re-published on this site when the finalist is announced.
