First finalist announced for UI President

The Iowa Board of Regents has announced the first finalist for University of Iowa president who will be visiting campus Monday.

Hari Osofsky is currently the dean of Penn State Law and the Penn State School of International Affairs and will be on campus through Tuesday. An open forum with limited in-person attendance will be hosted Monday at 3:30pm. You can also watch the forum online at https://www.iowaregents.edu or https://presidentialsearch.uiowa.edu.

Osofsky graduated magna cum laude with distinction in both Philosophy and Studies in the Environment at Yale, then went onto Yale Law, where she graduated in 1998. She also has a PhD in Geography that she earned in 2013 from the University of Oregon. Her previous academic positions include the University of Oregon,  as well as the University of Minnesota, Washington and Lee University, and Whittier Law School in California. The second candidate is expected to visit campus beginning this Thursday; their name will be announced Wednesday morning. The other candidate finalists will visit April 19th-20th and April 22-23. The Regents plan to meet at the end of the month and interview the finalists themselves before announcing their selection on April 30th.
