Driving with plates that didn’t match the vehicle led to drug charges against a Coralville man.

Police say they stopped 19-year-old Parrish Forrest of 21st Avenue Place as he was traveling near 25th Avenue and 10th Street around 10:35pm Sunday after a check of his plates didn’t match the vehicle he was driving.

While vehicle information was being checked, an officer standing near the vehicle observed Forrest attempting to stash a clear plastic bag with multicolored tablets inside that resembled ecstasy into a compartment below the radio. When asked, Forrest allegedly stated that the tablets were ecstasy.

A total of 11 tablets were found.

Forrest was arrested and charged with a Class C Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to affix Drug Stamp. If convicted on both counts, he faces up to fifteen years in prison.
