An Iowa City man was arrested after an alleged assault on his mother.
The incident occurred Sunday just before 11pm at the residence the two share on Dartmouth Street. The mother called 911 to report that her adult son grabbed and pushed her. Upon arrival, the woman complained of lingering pain to her arm where her son, 21-year-old Caelin Santee-Buenger, had grabbed her.
The mother stated that she and her son were in an argument over his refusal to clean up after himself. Santee-Buenger allegedly then put his mother up against the wall and grabbed her arm tightly. He’s also accused of “shoulder-checking” her as he walked by her.
Officers noted redness around the woman’s arm where her son grabbed her.
Santee-Buenger was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor. A no-contact order was requested between the two family members.
