A fired Iowa City convenience store employee is accused of returning to the business to harass a former co-worker.
Iowa City Police say 33-year-old Alando Gordon of Shamrock Place was fired by the Muscatine Avenue Kum & Go and banned from the property for suspected criminal activity while at work. Last fall Gordon allegedly made a series of fraudulent transactions while he was on duty. It’s believed that he took over $2,250 from the register between September and October, leading to his firing and the filing of criminal charges.
Gordon allegedly entered the convenience store with several of his friends just before 3:30am on November 18th and threatened the clerk on duty. The clerk reminded Gordon several times that he was banned from the store, but Gordon allegedly remained inside for several more minutes.
Gordon was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 6:15 Friday night and charged with Trespassing. He was also wanted for failing to appear at his arraignment on a 2nd Degree Theft charge stemming from his alleged cash register thefts.
