An area man is in custody after violating his probation on drunken driving charges.
Court records indicate that 27-year-old Cody Lee Wade was sentenced in January 2020 for his 3rd OWI in June of 2019. He was sentenced to five years in prison, all which except for 30 days was suspended. He was also sentenced to 3 years probation and his license was revoked for six years.
On Thursday last week, Wade was arrested and charged in Linn County with two counts of Domestic Abuse Assault involving the mother of his five month old child. Wade was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while committing the offense, and arresting officers noted the odor of alcohol coming from Wade. He reportedly admitted to having had two Twisted Tea drinks.
A warrant for Wade’s arrest was issued that day, and he was booked into the Johnson County Jail Sunday night for violating his probation. He was released Monday morning and awaits a probation revocation hearing on March 26th.
