An Oxford assault suspect allegedly incriminated himself by sending a typo-filled text message to his alleged victim.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Austin Harshman of West State Street threw a ratchet strap at another man in a neighboring apartment around 11pm on March 8th. When the ratchet strap missed, Harshman allegedly grabbed the man by the neck and started choking him. Police say the two then began striking each other before the alleged victim was able to remove himself from the situation.

Harshman then allegedly texted the victim, writing, “How’d that as whopping taste”.

Harshman is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of one year in jail.
