After over a year, the Iowa Board of Regents has lifted its international travel ban effective immediately.

In a release today, the decisions regarding international travel for faculty, staff and students will be made by the president of each Regent university.

The ban had been in effect since March 5th of last year in response to COVID-19. Due to improving conditions, Board President Michael Richards announced the decision to lift their oversight on international travel.

The release stressed that the overall State of Emergency for Regent Universities issued on March 18th last year remains in effect. That includes any other policies and administrative rules that have been waived due to the pandemic.
