Two suburban Chicago teens were arrested Saturday night after using fake IDs to get into an Iowa City bar and refusing to leave after being ejected.

According to arrest reports, 19-year-old Jacob Westphal and 19-year-old Jack Manso, both of Evergreen Park Illinois, were at Elrays on Iowa Avenue around 9:20 pm. Officers were called to the scene when they were ejected but would not leave the location. Both allegedly smelled of ingested alcohol, had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and impaired balance.

Westphal refused a PBT and was reportedly found in possession of a fictitious Illinois ID card with his name and an altered date of birth to make him appear old enough to legally drink. Manso tried to hide his fictitious ID by taking it out of his wallet and placing it into his pocket, and refused to give it to police.

Officers on scene say the two squared up as if they were going to fight, and were taken into custody. They located Manso’s fictitious Illinois driver’s license with the date of birth altered to make him appear of legal drinking age.

The two were charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of a Fictitious License or ID. If convicted, Westphal and Manso could be sentenced to up to 13 months in prison.
