A West Branch woman was taken into custody Thursday night after an alleged hit-and-run accident involving alcohol use.

Police say that round 6:15pm, 32-year-old Marissa Bream of North 6th Street was involved in a hit-and-run accident near the entrance to the Coral Ridge Mall off Highway 965. Officers were in the area at the time and observed a vehicle matching the description given by the reported party with severe front end damage.

The vehicle, a Hyundai Santa Fe, was stopped, and Bream reportedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, had trouble with simple tasks, and admitted to drinking.  Bream’s two year old daughter was in the back seat at the time of the accident.

Bream showed impairment on field testing, and a Datamaster reading of .224 percent was  recorded.
