KCJJ lets you know about all kinds of non-profit fundraisers throughout the year, but you don’t always hear how the events went.
The Domestic Violence Intervention Program hosted their 24th annual Souper Bowl last week. Normally an in-person event, the group went semi-virtual this year, with participants choosing from ten different soups and either having their soups delivered or picked up at DVIP offices. Each ticket buyer also got a commemorative soup mug.
Despite the change in the event, the Souper Bowl raised over $24,000 for the group.
The money will be put to good use, as the organization reports that calls to their hotlines have increased by 28% since May.
Leftover commemorative mugs and DVIP masks are still available for purchase. Mugs are $12 and masks are $10. If you’re interested, email ashlee@dvipiowa.org.
