An Iowa City transient was taken into custody Thursday morning after an altercation with the mother of his children.
Police say 28-year-old Torcel Walker forced his way through the woman’s Benton Drive apartment at around 6:45am. He’s then accused of grabbing the woman by the arm and forcing her against the wall. Walker then allegedly began yelling at the woman for possibly cheating on him.
The two’s shared children were present during the event.
Walker was taken to the Johnson County Jail and charged with 2nd degree Burglary and 3rd or subsequent Domestic Abuse Assault, and could be sentenced to up to fifteen years in prison if convicted on both counts.
