An Iowa City man was taken into custody after he allegedly threatened individuals with a pellet gun.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Van Buren Street on reports of a male standing outside of an apartment holding a gun Thursday around 7:50 pm. Arriving police came upon 19-year-old Nicholas Miller, who lives at the residence.

The complainants said that there was a disagreement two days prior and again Thursday night. They then heard Miller telling the complainants to come out of the apartment. Miller was seen through the apartment’s peep hole with the gun in his hand and loading a magazine.

Miller was discovered with a pellet gun that was holstered. He was taken into custody and charged with 3rd degree harassment, a simple misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to 30 days. A no-contact order was requested between Miller and the complainants.
