A North Dakota man was taken into custody early Tuesday after being accused of driving while intoxicated and being in possession of a handgun.
Police say a citizen observed 26-year-old Uriel Hurtado Osorio of Wilson North Dakota near the area of Gleason and Sycamore Streets around 3:20am , driving erratically. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Osorio, where he was observed with multiple signs of intoxication.
Osorio allegedly had red watery eyes, slurred speech, and had the odor of ingested alcohol. After performing poorly on field tests, he refused PBT and Datamaster testing. Police say that Osorio had a handgun right next to his leg in the driver’s area of the vehicle. He allegedly admitted to coming from a local bar and drinking there.
Osorio was charged with first offense OWI and Carrying Weapons while Intoxicated. If convicted, he faces up to two years in jail.
