A Davenport woman has been taken into custody after allegedly assaulting her fiancé at their Iowa City apartment over issues with his family.
According to police, the incident occurred Monday afternoon at the couple’s Taft Avenue residence. 31-year-old Diane Glenn, whose ID shows her with a Davenport address, and her fiancé have been together for about a year. The man told officers that the two got into a verbal argument over Glenn’s accusation that his family doesn’t like her. During the argument, the man reportedly called his sister, at which time Glenn allegedly tried to get the phone away from him.
The man reportedly balled himself up in an attempt to hold onto the phone, and Glenn is accused of biting and scratching at him to try to get the phone away from him. Officers observed the man had redness in the shape of a bite mark.
Glenn was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail if convicted.
