An underage West Branch man reportedly found in a ditch early Sunday was arrested for OWI.

According to police, they came upon 18-year-old Andrew Kloss of Sagert Drive just after 1:30am in a Kia Optima that had ended up in a ditch near the area of Herbert Hoover Highway and Taft Avenue. His tires were still spinning when they made contact with him. Kloss reportedly had bloodshot watery eyes, looked spaced out, and had a strong odor of ingested alcohol.

Police say Kloss admitted to drinking earlier in the evening, and produced an ID that made him appear to be 21 years old. A PBT yielded a blood-alcohol level of .200, and a Datamaster came up at .181. Kloss also allegedly had an unopened mini-bottle of vodka in his pants pocket.

Kloss was charged with his 1st OWI and possession of a fake ID. If convicted on both charges, Kloss could be sentenced to up to 2 years in jail.
