An Coralville man who was angry at property managers at his sister’s residence for not addressing her maintenance issues in a timely manner has been arrested after repeatedly throwing garbage and cutting down security cameras there.

Early Sunday morning, Coralville police responded to 954 Boston Way on reports of a man dumping trash inside the building. The reporting party viewed the incident through live surveillance cameras. They allegedly show 31-year-old Frank Little, also of Boston Way, going to the dumpster in the rear of the building. He then reportedly brought trash bags inside the building and proceeded to throw the garbage onto the carpet and walls.

According to the arrest report, Little has been actively throwing trash inside the building over the past six months. The reporting party allegedly has Little on video multiple times committing the same criminal mischief. It’s estimated the amount of damage Little has caused over the past months is over $1500 on stained carpeting and damaged drywall.

Little is also accused of cutting four video surveillance cameras off the wall, taking them outside and throwing them into the street. The cameras have a total value of around $800.

When interviewed by officers, Little reportedly explained that his sister used to live in the building and that property managers didn’t respond to her requests to fix the property. He retaliated by starting to throw trash inside the apartment building. He also allegedly said that he “just felt ornery” and knew he shouldn’t have done what he did. He also reportedly admitted that he had no reason to be inside the property.

Little was taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Criminal Mischief, Trespass causing Damage, and 3rd degree Theft. If convicted on all charges, Little could be sentenced to up to eight years in prison.
