A North Liberty woman who allegedly was found unresponsive at her residence Wednesday has been charged with child endangerment.

Police conducted a welfare check on 40-year-old Sally Morris of West Cherry Street at 9:50am after she was reported as unresponsive and not waking up. Arriving officers allegedly observed drug paraphernalia and a plastic baggie containing a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine in plain view.

Morris is accused of leaving the products in an open room, in close proximity to 4 and 5-year-old children cared for by her and within reach of them.

Morris was taken into custody and charged with Child Endangerment, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to over three years in prison.
